Middle School Math/Pre-Algebra

Middle School Math/Pre-Algebra My specialty starts with 6th grade math as the prime area to address math misconceptions and to filter out potential bad habits. Most people’s math issues begin at 7th grade. If they are not addressed by 8th grade then high school becomes even harder. This course is tailored between your needs of either enrichment, tutoring, or refreshing skills to become stronger.

Algebra 1

Algebra is the the biggest foundation of math there is. If you ever struggled with pre-algebra or Algebra 1, I can assure that is the core area that has to be addressed for future success in math. It is the language that every other math concept is built on going forward. I highly recommend this course for 7th grade-Adults. When adults tell me they are not good at math they are almost always referring to Algebra 1. Whether it is enrichment, tutoring, or you are an adult trying to root out your math phobia, this is the critical place to start. Highly recommended for those looking to develop their skills to learn computer programs, coding, business math, and overall creative problem solving

Word Problems

Word problems are their own discipline. This is often the highest source of anxiety. It is the reason why people have so much trouble on standardized tests. Highly recommended for 6th grade-Adults. Adults may find this especially helpful in reducing the next level of math anxiety. Highly recommended for those looking to develop their skills in business math, training for standardized tests, enhancing communication skills, and creative problem solving. Sessions tailored to math abilities. 10 week minimum.

Core math subject especially during high school. Important for understanding spatial relation and the foundation of math since 3000BC. Older than Algebra. Recommended for 9th grade-Adults. Trigonometry sounds complicated, but it’s actually very easy. This is a great way to delve into physics and astronomy.

SAT/ACT

While the world may be divided on the use of standardized tests, there is a reason why they are still considered a measure of performance. Most standardized tests like the GRE are also patterned after them. Many entrance exams for jobs are also similar. If you are considering taking this course, first schedule a consultation so that we can make a plan. 10 week minimum.

GRE

For those looking to get into a graduate program that may require this test, I can coach you on how to succeed. I highly recommend the Word Problem course first to work around certain sections easier. Otherwise, you will find it to be somewhat easier than the SAT/ACT when you understand the fundamentals.

Yohan gave regular updates to my husband and I. We saw our son stay ahead of his tasks, and he was able to achieve Honors status in all of his core subjects. To this day, our son has maintained Yohan’s recommendations and hasn’t had any problems in that he can’t handle navigating on his own, using the tools that Yohan provided. I witnessed first hand as Yohan turned many students around in their work, including two particular special needs students. One student was on the autism spectrum and suffered from seizures which caused him to mentally function at the level of about a 9 or 10 year old at the age of 16. Yet, Yohan was able to teach this student Algebra and Geometry. Everyone marveled at this because most teachers could barely get the student to understand fractions.
